Present number 2 of 40, or ‘how my husband actually silenced me’

It was Valentine’s Day. Husband had headed off to the gym at 6am, as he likes to do when he is able to. I rolled over and went back to sleep as best I could for another hour. (Child is well trained and plays on his own, in his room, while Mummy goes back to sleep. This is self-preservation on his part.)

When I came to, and got ready I wandered downstairs, with a little bag of handmade cards from Cherub and I for husband, and a magazine I know he’s been after.

There in the kitchen, on the breakfast bar facing me, were three vases stuffed with roses. And a note – “Present Number 2 of 40 – 40 roses.”

I was stunned, touched, gobsmacked and speechless. Beautiful pink blush roses all round the house now 🙂

About Not quite 40

Mother of 1, wife for 15 years, coming up to 40 and wanting to do something different. Not sure what, then realised it didn't actually matter. As long as I do *something* new, it's going to be Good!
